retro kitchens - kitchen nostalgia or shredder material? Kitchen #1

Each Saturday morning, I will be reintroducing a kitchen from years past, dredging up either a) memories which will thrust you into therapy anew assuming you are from that era, if not, you were thankfully born into a better kitchen era (except for the grays of the 80s) b) give you an urge to don an apron and find a rolling pin (this baby is $43) and probably other unpredictable reactions. Thus, I apologize in advance for the rude and (tasteless) reminders, but I couldn't resist! I've even made a category just for memorializing these kitchens. I mean, look, after all, orange is back in! Chant with me now (preferably with raised fist): NEVER AGAIN!!
Can you guess the year? AND, how many jokes can we make about this kitchen?

I would say about 1973. Thats one nasty kitchen. It needs to be ripped apart by Hell's Angels with crowbars IMHO
You're close! The catalog says it was published in 1977, but I know that oftentimes some of the images are years old. Hell's Angels with crowbars? I'd given them 5 minutes tops.
I liked your post a few back...Everyone ends up in the kitchen. Makes me wonder why more people don't design "kitchen centric" homes. My idea of a great kitchen
inlcudes alot of the ideas in your prior post. Especially the large windows that let nature in the room.
I remember those 1970 kitchens. They would have been the rage back them. Fun to see them again.
Ugh- Until recently, every apartment I have rented has had these cabinets in the kitchen. One even had a sassy avocado green stove! Ok, who am I kidding...I totally loved the stove.
Ahhh.....Memories!!
I would have said 1973-1974 since this kitchen here had the identical stove in it, except avocado. It was original to the construction. It was the first thing to go.
I think it's gorgeous. High Tech for the time definately, warm and retro now.
